Home-Visit Services - Our Main Services
Our home-visit services can be divided into 3 distinct groups: 1: Wills only; 2: Lasting Powers of Attorney only; and 3: Wills and LPAs.
Over 80% of our clients request one of the following eight packages. To ovoid over complicating the table with options that are rarely requested below we have shown the prices for these eight. If you want a different combination (e.g. you want to make only one LPA - rather than the recommended two) please contact us for a personalised quote.
We add a small charge for travel costs if you are not local to us i.e. you do not live in Travel Band 1.Find out more

Our Services for a married or cohabiting couple
- There are multiple combinations available. The prices for the five most commonly requested are listed below.:
- Please note: These prices are for a married couple or two civil partners of the same civil partnership or two people who are partners and cohabiting in the same property.
- If you are two adults living in the same house (e.g. a parent and their adult child) we treat you as two single persons - for while we may save travel times meeting you in one house we will, in effect, be conducting two separate interviews and often have to produce two very different documents. Sorry.
- At the end of the process all parties will each have a legally-valid Will that distributes their estate as they want. Read more.
Two Wills (one for each party)
A. Two Wills for 2 people. (i.e. One for each party).
LPAs for two people
B. Four Unregistered LPAs (Two for each party).
C. Four Registered LPAs (Two for each party).
A Will and 2 LPAs for each party
D. Two Wills for 2 people. (One for each party) together with Four Unregistered LPAs (Two for each party).
E. Two Wills for 2 people. (One for each party) together with Four Registered LPAs (Two for each party).
- Please remember: If you are comparing prices with other providers to compare like-with-like. Our prices above do not include the fees that the Office of the Public Guardian (“OPG”) will charge.
- The OPG presently charge £82 per registered LPA. So a donor who pays full fees will have to pay OPG fees of £164 for two LPAs in addition to the prices shown above.
Where a donor qualifies for a fee remission and can prove it to the satisfaction of the OPG then those fees are halved. And if the donor qualifies for a fee exemption then the OPG will waive their fees entirely.
- If purchasing lasting Powers of Attorney we usually recommend you purchase both types of LPA - LPA Property & Financial Affairs) and 1 LPA Health and Welfare). Read more.

OPG Registration and the OPG’s Fees
Before an attorney can legally use a Lasting Power of Attorney (“LPA”) it must first be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (“OPG”).
The OPG’s fees are presently £82 per LPA. So 2 LPAs will cost £164, and 4 LPAs £328.
The OPG’s fees can change at any time.
Where certain criteria are met it is possible for the OPG’s fees to be halved or waived entirely. We will explain these criteria to you when we meet, and guide you in what documentation we will need that is acceptable to the OPG to support your claim for a fee remission or fee waiver.
To help you compare of our prices with those of our competitors we, like our competitors, just show our prices for each service. Please remember therefore to add the OPG’s fees to our figures [where you desire the LPAs to be registered] to determine how much you will have to pay in total.
We generally recommend that LPAs are registered as soon as possible - but there are occasions when registration is better deferred. Again, we will discuss this aspect with you.
Ancillary Services:
We also provide a number of standalone services that relate to Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and similar legal documents.
Codicils
A codicil is a legal document that changes an existing Last Will and testament (referred to hereafter as a ‘Will’). We normally recommend the whole Will is updated rather than making a Codicil - but there are occasions when a Codicil should be used.
A. A single Codicil for a single person.
B. Two Codicils for 2 people (One for each party)
- Option ‘b’ is only available to a married couple or two partners of the same civil partnership or two people who are partners and cohabiting in the same property.
- Note: We only draft Codicils that relate to Wills that we originally drafted.
Side Letters
Side letters add flesh to the bones on a Will - and can be very important in certain circumstances.
A. To produce a single Side Letter
Cost: £NIL unless the side letter relates to a discretionary trust and the size of the estate is £1Mn or more then we charge a fee as the S-Letter will be complex..
Registration of a Lasting Power of Attorney (“LPA”) with the office of the Public Guardian
Before an LPA can be used by the named attorneys it must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.
A. To register 1 LPA with the OPG
Cost: £95 + Travel Costs + Disbursements
B. To Register 2 LPAs with the OPG
Cost: £140 (i.e.£70 per LPA) + Travel Costs + Disbursements
C. To Register 4 LPAs with the OPG
Cost: £180 (i.e. £45 per LPA) + Travel Costs + Disbursements
- Registration of an LPA can be undertaken by the donor or an attorney without using our services. Visit the OPG’s website to see how.
- The advantage of using our service is that we will check the documents before submission to ensure there are no obvious errors, help with claiming a fee remission or exemption where relevant, and oversee the registration process and liaise with the donor and the OPG when there is a problem.

Termination of Lasting Powers of Attorney (“LPA”) or the Removal of an Attorney from an LPA
Occasionally it is necessary to remove an attorney from an existing LPA or terminate an LPA entirely.
A. To terminate an LPA
B. To remove an attorney from an existing LPA
- Both (a) and (b) can be done by the donor themselves, but if you use our services we make the task slightly easier.
Registration of a Lasting Power of Attorney (“LPA”) with the Office of the Public Guardian
Before an LPA can be used by the named attorneys it must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.
A. To register 1 LPA with the OPG
B. To Register 2 LPAs with the OPG
Cost: £140 (i.e.£70 per LPA) + Travel Costs + OPG Fees
C. To Register 4 LPAs with the OPG
Cost: £180 (i.e. £45 per LPA) + Travel Costs + OPG Fees
Registration of an Enduring Power of Attorney (“EPA”) with the office of the Public Guardian
Enduring Powers of Attorney were replaced by LPA Property & Financial Affairs in October 2007. An EPA that was correctly completed before that date can be still valid.
An EPA must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian when the donor is loosing mental capacity or has lost it. An attorney cannot use an unregistered LPA if the donor has lost their capacity.
A. To register 1 EPA with the OPG
- Cost: £250 + Travel Costs + OPG Fees
- Registration of an EPA can be undertaken by an attorney without using our services. Visit the OPG’s website to see how.
The advantage of using our service is that we already have template letters in place, and know the required process - which is not straightforward and can be time consuming.
General Powers of Attorney
A General Power of Attorney is a simple document that allows you to appoint someone you trust to make financial decisions on your behalf. While you have mental capacity. Your attorneys cannot use the document if you have lost capacity.
A. To advice on and draft a GPA:
- We will only draft these documents for our existing clients, and even then only in exceptional circumstances in view of the high risk they represent.
Living Wills
A Living Will (also known as an Advance Directive) is a legal document that sets out your wishes with regards to medication, operations etc in the event that you cannot communicate those wishes yourself.
Prior to 2007 the Living Will was merely an expression of wish. Following the introduction of Lasting Powers of Attorney - Health and Welfare in 2007, the Living Will became a legally binding document.
It does have some advantages over the LPA - Health and Welfare - which we will explain when we meet..
